From his early years, playing High School baseball to being called up by the MLB Washington Nationals and being part of this year's MLB World Champions.
Barrera has achieved this with hard work and dedication.
The City of Eagle Pass will recognize the positivity that Barrera's journey to achieve his life long dream means not only to the community but anyone who is and will be inspired by his story.
The City of Eagle Pass will be presenting Barrera a recognition today at 4:00 PM.
Eahle Pass Mayor Ramsey E Cantu invites the community to come out and show our support for Barrera.
“Tres Barrera is a great example for our youth to follow. He has done an exceptional job at representing our community, and we are very proud to say that he has roots in Eagle Pass as he continues achieving greatness in the sports world,” said Mayor Ramsey E. Cantu. He will be here at the Moncada Baseball Field on Wednesday, and we invite the community to come out and show our support.”
The ceremonial recognition will be taking place at the City of Eagle Pass Moncada Baseball field. Barrera's accomplishments on and off the field are inspiring and a great opportunity to teach all, young and old that if you work hard and are passionate about what you do you can achieve anything your heart desires and make your dreams a reality.
As a young boy Barrera dreamed about playing Major League Baseball and winning a World Series Championship.
On Wednesday, October 30, 2019, he achieved that dream when the Washington Nationals won the Major League Baseball World Series Championship.
