On Friday, July 10th local officials announced that the total number of positive cases was at 820.
Back on July 3, Emergency Operation Center officials reported that the number of positive cases in Maverick County was at 550.
That means that in a week's time our positive COVID-19 cases increased by 270.
The number of positive cases continues to grow locally, and across the region.
Val Verde county reported a 130 % increase in the same time.
Back on July 3rd they had 271 positive COVID-19 cases. As of July 10th they hit 622 cases. They also reported three deaths in one day.
Officials throughout the region are working along with the State and health care professionals to try to get a grasp of the inevitable, continued increases that will put a strain on all involved.
