Sheriff Schmerber stated that Sheriff Department units were dispatched to Highway 57 in regard to a female subject being held against her will inside a traveling vehicle on Saturday, July 11.
A third party was able to pin point the location of a silver in color pickup truck (2017, Chevrolet, Silverado) traveling south on Highway 57.
Contact was made with the vehicle in which a traffic stop was conducted on said vehicle on Loop 480.
Upon making contact with the female subject, she advised she was traveling with a male subject identified as William Martinez (22 years of age).
The female subject advised Deputies she was to be taken from Brady, Tx to San Antonio, Tx by the male subject.
The female subject further advised that the male subject refused to drop her off in San Antonio and proceeded to travel towards Mexico.
She stated that she asked the male subject several times to let her out of the vehicle and drop her off, in which the male subject refused.
Contact was made with the male subject in which he advised he was traveling towards Mexico with the female subject.
Due to female subject wishing to file charges, the male subject was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
CID was notified of the incident.

Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber reported that deputies were able to stop a kidnapping in process.
