A tractor trailer carrying a shipment of propane tanks rolled over on Highway 57, causing it to be shut down for several hours.
Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber reported that the 18 wheeler ended up on its side and losing its cargo about 18 miles out of Eagle Pass.
Numerous large propane tanks scattered all over the road and struck at least one vehicle.
Several individuals were injured and transported to the hospital to be evaluated and treated.
The Texas Department of Public Safety took over and is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
Traffic was redirected in order to allow for a road crew to clean up and the tractor trailer to be towed.
