The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny Defend (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004, provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event.
Some of the topics in the presentation and training include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, medical issues, and considerations for conducting drills. Eagle Pass Police Chief Federico Garza informed that such training and community involvement and agency collaborations are important in keeping a community safe. Any agency or business interested in this free training may inquire with Lt. Amy González of the EPPD at (830) 773-9044 extension 2059 for more information.
