The case of two missing siblings continues as the two girls, Edna Mayline Perez, 9, and her sister Dafne Perez, 7, who were last seen around noon Wednesday playing at a park near their home on the 600 block of Adams St., may have been seen in Piedras Negras according to Sergeant Orlando Escareño.

"The latest is that we have a lady who is stating that she may have seen the girls with their mother in Piedras Negras, but Mexican authorities are following up on this report," stated Escareño.

When asked if we had jurisdiction in our neighboring country, Escareño said that the only agency that has such jurisdiction would be the FBI as an agreement exists between the United States and Mexico.

On this side of the border, authorities are scanning any and all video surveillance equipment on both international bridges to see if they can be seen on video footage, but there have been no positive ID's as of yet.

The case remains under investigation.
