Friendship Festival Parade

The "Fun At the Circus" themed Friendship Festival Parade was held on Saturday, April 1 with many spectators attending and enjoying the event.

Over 100 parade entries, including the Eagle Pass High School Mighty Eagle Band and the C.C. Winn High School Stampeding Mavericks Band, made their way through downtown Eagle Pass.

Parade floats exhibited everything from circus clowns and performers, much to the delight of the audience.

Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey E. Cantu and Mexican Consulate Ismael Naveja Macias spearheaded the parade and rode together in a sign of unity and friendship between both countries.

Texas Senator Carlos Uresti also participated in the festivities and was happy to be among his constituents enjoying the celebratory event.

Mr. Amigo 2017, Roger Perez of Eagle Pass and Carlos Coral of Piedras Negras Coahuila, participated in representation of their communities.

This was the first time the Friendship Festival Parade was transmitted live through the City of Eagle Pass Facebook account, reaching thousands of viewers.

The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce appreciates everyone who participated and made the event possible.

EPCC Director Sandra Martinez has announced the first place winners for the parade as follows: Best Float / Decorated Flatbed Truck: Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas; Best Decorated Car: Pre-Teen Fiestas Patrias Nadia Martinez Cortez; Best Decorated Pickup Truck: Miss Pre-Teen International Friendship Festival; Best Elementary Level Marching Band Team: Perfect Stain Drill Team; Best Drill Team: CC Winn AFJROTC TX 20122 Non-Uniform Flight; And Best Gymnastics / Sporting Display ECS Special Needs Team.

The Best of Show was given to Santana Family Care & Fort Duncan Hospice Care.
