Eagle Pass authorities and Maverick County authorities are getting organized to request a day at the capital in Austin. Mayor Ramsey English- Cantú informed The News Gram that this week a meeting was held to coordinate a visit to establish a date for Eagle Pass Day in the State of Texas. He said that each year, the State Capitol sets aside a date to receive authorities from Eagle Pass in order to have an audience with state representatives in this region. Senator Carlos Uresti will be on hand to receive our local dignitaries as well as Tracy O. King who will also be on hand to do so. Our city officials and our county elected officials will also be on hand to address state officials on the concerns of our fair city and our county. Mayor Cantú stated that these audiences have always produced favorable results and it is important for us to have the necessary support from Austin in all our affairs for the benefit of our community and our border region.
