in the Seco Mines area minutes before 12 noon on Wednesday March, 6, 2019.
The fire is reported to have been accidentally caused, affecting a debris pile at the back of the facility. Eagle Pass Fire Department personnel were summoned to the scene and proceeded to battle and contain the fire that was being fed by strong winds.
Fire personnel continued their efforts for several hours as the blaze slowly was controlled and eventually put out.
Fire Chief Manuel Mello reported that his personnel worked tirelessly to assure that the fire would not burn out of control and affect homes or properties near the recycling facility.
Just last year a similar type of fire occurred within the facility, which was also put out by the Eagle Pass Fire Department.
