Flu-related deaths in Dallas County reach 26

DALLAS (AP) —

Dallas County has confirmed 26 flu-related deaths as health officials urge people to get vaccinated.

Officials with Dallas County Health and Human Services on Friday announced nine additional flu deaths. Authorities earlier in the week announced 17 confirmed flu deaths. Dallas County's latest report covers flu cases reported since mid-September.

The Texas Department of State Health Services on Thursday unveiled a 30-second public service announcement urging people to get flu shots. This year's vaccine includes protection against H1N1, commonly known as swine flu.
