Please join us for the bi-monthly Pecos Trail Partners Event, Sep 19, starting at 10 a.m. at the Historic Rocksprings Hotel located in downtown Rocksprings.  Attendees will tour the court house square, including the historic hotel, and have the opportunity to visit small museums, shops, and restaurants. The county judge will speak about the current restoration project of the Edwards County Court House. We will be giving out door prizes. The public is welcome to attend. Lunch will be served at noon.

Three people were injured in a shootout at a local trailer park in which a man was shot over a civili dispute when trying to escape into his trailer home. 18 year-old James Cruz is in an San Antonio hospital after being shot in the back by one of two assailants. Those who have been charged with assault with a deadly weapon are Roberto Ruiz, 57 and Adrian Torres, 23 who have since been apprehended. According to reports, the three men had been involved in a civil dispute involving the slashing of each other's tires for some time. Unfortunately this dispute escalated into a confrontation involving firearms. What is worse, a Carrizo Springs woman was shot by a stray bullet while seemingly in the comfort of her own home. The case remains under investigation by the Texas Rangers.
