San Antonio, TX – After an initial investigation that found voting irregularities across the Texas 23^rd Congressional District, due to the prohibitively large size and scope of a full investigation and recount that would take too much time for the people of the district, Congressman Canseco called to congratulate Representative-Elect Pete Gallego.

“Today I spoke with Representative-elect Gallego and congratulated him on a hard fought campaign.  I wish him the best of success in serving the extraordinary people of the 23rd Congressional District.  During the past several days, we have continued to investigate and discover voting irregularities during this election.  While there is no doubt there were improperly counted votes and improperly cast ballots, a full investigation and recount would be prohibitively expensive and time consuming.  It has been a great honor to serve the people from San Antonio to El Paso and I thank them for having allowed me the privilege of being their voice in Congress.” Said Congressman Canseco.
