The Eagle Pass Eagles went into Farris Stadium with one thing on their mind, face-off with an undefeated and untied team and in the famous words of Tom Petty, “Not back down.”

The Fab Four were fabulous as always including Pepe Hernández who scored first on a 75 yard pitch and catch from Andres Garcia.

Sebastian Diaz also caught one for a TD and Lazaro Frausto kicked two field goals.

“I am very proud of the way we showed up and played,” said Coach Tom Gonzalez, “We faced a lot of adversity. We knew they were undefeated for a reason, but our district is catching up with theirs. Our kids were not afraid of the challenge and showed it on the field. They didn’t shy away from anyone.”

“Words can't describe how incredibly proud I am of our kids. I honor God for giving me the responsibility of developing such great kids,” said Offensive Coordinator Javier Cardenas, “Even though we fell short to the #3 ranked team in SA & District Champs Harlan, our kids competed with unwavering tenacity & heart. I will miss this group of kids very much; we formed a special bond. Our OL was not the biggest but they did their job every week. They are Seniors Jose Rendon, Armando Moyeda, Tristan Dierks, Jesus Mata Jose Carrillo & Sophomore Rolando Rendon. Running back was by committee this year- great group of kids. They are Seniors Emilio Mendoza, Kadrien Rodriguez, Jorge Sierra & Sophomore Diego Flores. Our Fab 4 Receivers were money all season. Extremely talented but unselfish- they were each others biggest supporters. Seniors Sebastian Diaz, Willy Frausto & Junior Jose Hernandez & Sophomore Sebastian Velasquez. Finally to our fearless leader on the field. Our Senior QB Andres Garcia. Consistent & tough the entire season. Passed for nearly 3,000 yards for the season & set all time passing records at EPHS. Thankful for ALL our coaches. Thankful for all our kids & their contributions. This is a very special group of kids. God bless each of them & their families.”
