When Mexico and the United States scheduled an April friendly, it's unlikely that Jurgen Klinsmann and Miguel Herrera were expecting to see cohesive-looking sides, ready for World Cup play. Instead, they played experimental teams with fringe players, and they got plenty of information from it. The fans got a nice show, too, with the game ending in a 2-2 draw.

Your CC Winn Mavericks took on loop-leading Laredo United on Friday night under the lights at the EPISD Baseball Complex and ace Rica Gonzalez was on the hill after his record-setting 17 K performance last week, but he ran into trouble early on in the first when leadoff hitter Eddie Gonzalez worked the count full before drawing a base on balls followed by a single by Bernie Martinez. Jorge Gonzalez also base hit to score Gonzalez from second, then a sacrifice fly by Isaac Gutierrez made it United 2, Winn 0.

The CC Winn Lady Mavericks Softball team triumphed over the Laredo Alexander bulldogs on Friday night in a 10-0 blowout at the Eagle Pass ISD Student Activities Complex for their 8th 29-5A district game of the season.
